Hi, I have been into meditating for maybe 3-4 months under a year. I recently have been doing transcendental meditation. I would say Ive been doing that atleast 4 times a week for 2 & 1/2 months. I sometimes feel my pineal working and am getting some weird and very random shapes and images when I reach a peacefull minds’ state. Sometimes good feelings such as peace and happiness occur. Basically my question is does something else happen..? like whats this enlightenment I keep hearing on sites?

um to be honest i don’t really like the word “enlightenment” because there are so many variations of enlightenment, it’s not one pivotal moment in your life, it’s so much more than just meditation. It’s learning to see with new eyes, it’s being the observer of your mind and of your life, it’s learning to see people differently. Meditation is something you want to be able to take with you wherever you go, you want to find a way to incorporate meditation in your daily life whether you are driving, walking down a street or in a grocery store. It’s all about being consciously aware. The book The power of Now by Eckhart Tolle is excellent if you are learning to explore more into inner stillness and meditation. His book is a wonderful teacher on how to become the observer of your thoughts.
But wording it like this: “my question is does something else happen..? like whats this enlightenment I keep hearing on sites?” You’re trying too hard to get there, too much thinking can ruin the process, be gentle with yourself and let it flow, let it flow into you. It’s already inside of you, it’sjust a matter of accessing it. Meditation does help but it’s also about our actions, our thoughts, our ego, and our soul. It all connects together everything you are doing is connected to your spiritual awakening. It’s all a part of this perception of “enlightenment”. So don’t give up instead try a new way of thinking, step out of your comfort zone, and QUESTION, question everything, question why meditation isn’t taking me further sooner, and question yourself, question why you feel this way and how it is effecting your personal emotions on enlightenment.
It’s not about force, it’s about flow, it’s about being. Once we learn to be, then we will become. <3
much love
