I have been doing tarot card readings for several years now, and I am quite good. But I have such an awful time remembering the meaning behind each card, I always have to reread my books on them. Any advice in remembering the meanings of each card?

The secret behind tarot is intuition and understanding how the system works. It is derived from the sacred tree of life of the kabbalah, each card is a gateway of understanding because there is energy inside each being of the card. They work like channeling, the inner-knowing behind them is directed to your energy and your will depending on the question that is asked whether conscious or subconscious. They work like crystals in a way, the trick is the belief and the thought behind it of what direction you want your will to go. I work with the Thoth deck the most, it speaks to me the best and feels more personal than the Rainer Waite deck. However the deck doesn’t matter it’s all about the thought and you.
The next time you do a reading, rather than looking at books i want you to feel your cards stop thinking so much, tarot is a mystical practice from centuries past that was directly linked to excessing the higher realms through cosmic consciousness.
Sit in silence with the cards, books aside and listen, what thoughts do you have while looking at your spread? what thoughts arise from you as you’re channeling the energy of the cards?
Intuition is always best
If you want to study the system more I highly suggest The Book of Thoth by Aleister Crowley, he goes into extensive detail about the kabbalah connecting to the universal system of tarot and he also goes into the story behind the cards. Hope this helped you dear <3
