Is it possible that you’re actually working against your own energy?
Do you ever feel like you’re fighting against your own intuition or energy? Maybe it’s pushing against yourself?
Feeling energetically drained, overwhelmed, or even frozen not wanting to take action. The Mental Load starts to overflow your consciousness.
So often we think the solution to burnout or overwhelm is to push harder, try another productivity hack, or blame ourselves for not being disciplined enough. But what if the real missing piece is simply this: knowing your energy rhythms.
For me, understanding my rhythms has completely shifted the way I show up, organize my day, my productivity workflow and even honoring my spiritual alignment. When I started exploring my chronotype, empath type, human design, and the balance of masculine and feminine energy, everything started to click into place.
And the truth is — if you’re always exhausted, scattered, or drained, you might not be lazy, broken, or undisciplined. You might just be going against your natural flow.
Why Energy Rhythms Matter
We live in a culture that praises constant doing — but the problem is, not all energy works the same way. If you’re ignoring your natural cycles on repeat, you’re setting yourself up for burnout.
Spiritual alignment is the path of least resistance. When we fight against our own rhythms, it feels like trudging uphill with a backpack full of bricks. But when we lean into our natural energy patterns, things feel easier, lighter, and more aligned.
4 Ways to Understand Your Energy Rhythms
1. Know Your Chronotype
Your chronotype reveals when you naturally have the most energy. Are you a morning lion, an afternoon bear, or a night wolf?
- Bear: Works best with the sun, rising early and winding down with sunset.
- Wolf: Most creative in the afternoon and evening — mornings feel impossible.
- Lion: Super productive in the early morning, usually asleep early.
- Dolphin: Struggles with sleep, bursts of energy throughout the day.
Understanding this can help you schedule your most creative or high-energy tasks at the right time instead of fighting your natural rhythm.
2. Discover Your Empath Type
As an empath or highly sensitive person, your strongest intuitive ability is one of your greatest tools. Maybe you’re clairvoyant (visual), clairsentient (feeling), claircognizant (knowing), or clairaudient (hearing).
When you understand your empath type, you stop fighting your sensitivity and start using it to your advantage. This can help you avoid overwhelm and trust your intuition more deeply. (P.S. If you don’t know your type, you can take my Empath Type Quiz to find out!)
3. Look at Your Human Design
I don’t use human design as a rigid structure, but even just knowing my type has been game-changing. For example:
- Generators/Manifesting Generators thrive on consistent energy.
- Manifestors (like me) work best in creative sprints followed by intentional rest.
- Projectors need more downtime and guidance.
- Reflectors mirror the energy around them.
If you constantly feel “off,” it may be because you’re trying to operate and even living in your daily routines like a type you’re not.
4. Balance Masculine and Feminine Energy
This has nothing to do with gender — it’s about active vs. receptive energy.
- Masculine energy = doing, action, creating, moving forward.
- Feminine energy = being, listening, receiving, resting, allowing.
When these get out of balance, you either push yourself into exhaustion (wounded masculine) or stay stuck in overthinking/dreaming without action (wounded feminine). Bringing awareness to this balance is essential for energy alignment and strengthening your Intuition.

If you’re wondering how this works, Here’s how this all plays out for me:
- Chronotype: I’m a wolf. Mornings don’t work for me — my best downloads come late at night. My Intuition is super strong in the evenings all the way until 1am or later when really inspired!
- Empath Type: I’m highly clairvoyant and claircognizant. Visuals and intuitive downloads are my strongest tools.
- Human Design: I’m a Manifestor, which means if I don’t honor my rest cycles, I burn out fast.
- Energy Balance: I’ve had to consciously heal my wounded feminine by allowing more rest and receptivity.
When I finally leaned into my natural rhythms, everything shifted — my creativity, my productivity, and especially my spiritual alignment.
Final Thoughts: It’s time to Stop Fighting Yourself
If you’re constantly exhausted, overwhelmed, or stuck, maybe it’s not that you’re doing something wrong. Maybe it’s that you’ve been ignoring your energy rhythms.
Start small:
- Take the Empath Type Quiz
- Look into your chronotype
- Explore your human design
- Notice if you’re leaning too much into masculine or feminine energy: For example, are you overdoing it to the point of feeling drained or are you in la la land, refusing to take action?
When you stop going against yourself, you’ll notice how much easier it feels to show up, create, and live in alignment.
✨ Remember: spiritual alignment is the pathway of least resistance.
